Build Google Actions and Alexa skills for your community!

TALK TO ME, BERLIN! is a hackathon for natural language interfaces organized by Voice enthusiasts. If you are curious about voice assistants everyone seems to be talking about - this event is for you.

During the non-profit event, participants will form groups and learn to prototype natural language interfaces for real world applications on Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

The hackathon takes place over a three day course from June 14th - 16th.

Build your Bot - live on stage with almost no code. If you think developing useful assistants is only for tech-experts then Sascha from Cognigy will prove you wrong with an introduction to Alexa Skills development and demonstrating an Omnichannel approach that requires almost no code at all.

Alexa Meets IoT. Come join Liz in this project-based workshop and learn to make skills that control everyday “things”! During this action-packed 60 minutes, you’ll learn how to create skills for Alexa and use MQTT to make winning Voice First Experiences.

Does every bot need a personality? Adva Levin will tell about storytelling elements in VUI.

Voice App Development deep dive with Jovo. Jan König from Jovo will walk through the essentials of developing voice apps that work on both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

Talks on voice and platforms - Part II

Storyline, Alexa skills without a single line of code Alexey Vidanov will show, how to create Amazon Alexa skills without code using Storyline.

Algolia API workshop. Paul-Louis Nech from Algolia will present the challenges of Search through voice, before sharing the main tips to build conversational interfaces that help users find what they are looking for.


Talks on voice and platforms - Part III

Actions on Google, the easy way. Rafael will show, how to create Actions for Google Assistant without deep coding skills.

Bottalk workshop. Andrey Esaulov from Bottalk will explain how to create complex Alexa Skills with Simple Markup Language

Coaches will be on site to help out with questions. Prototypes to be presented have to be finalized and a presenter (or group of them) to be chosen in each team.

Pitch coaching & video recordings

14.00 - 16.30 hrs

Send in selected team members for pitch coaching sessions of 10 min. each. Additionally we record a short video of your prototype

Presentation

16.30 - 19.00 hrs

Each group has 3 minutes to demo their prototype followed up by a 5 minute Q&A with the jury.

Cool down & dinner

19.00 - 19.30 hrs

For those who want to stay a bit at the venue, time has been reserved to chat, have some food, drinks an opportunity to pat each other on the back
